  • To Whom It May Concern, I had a hotel stay for a convention being held at the Clarion Suites hotel in Savannah, GA located at 17 Gateway Blvd East. This hotel was in terrible condition. Upon entering the hotel there was a strong odor of mold/mildew that can be smelled throughout the hotel. I originally checked into room 220 but found mold/mildew in the bathtub in the hotel room; and with both the air conditioning running and the fan going in the sitting room there was no smell of mold/mildew but without them running the odor was strong and prevalent. I was then moved to room 212 but this room also had mold/mildew in the bathtub; the air conditioning and fan were not running and the smell of mold/mildew was over powering. I was moved to room 330 and this room was in decent condition with neither the smell of mold/mildew nor visible mold/mildew located in the room. As a result of my being moved, the hotel staff took $50 off the total balance of my stay. I am neither pleased nor satisfied with the stay and am seeking further restitution for this terrible stay. Not only was there the problem with the hotel rooms but also with the conference rooms we used during the convention that I attended at this hotel. There was only functioning air conditioning located in the back half of the conference room that we used. Due to the size of the group that was present 6 people suffered heat related illness and had to be removed from the room during the day on Saturday, October 6th. 3 of the 6 required medical attention and an ambulance was called to seek treatment due to their heat related illness. This is totally and completely unacceptable. I will be reporting this incident to the health department in Chatham County as soon as their offices open for business. I expect to be contacted regarding what further restitution the ownership will offer for a terrible stay at this facility. I also rented a room for an attendee of this convention at the Days Inn property also owned by this company. The Days Inn address is 6 Gateway Blvd East Savannah, GA. I was originally given room 123 and this room has a faint odor of mold/mildew. In the bathroom the ceiling of the shower was speckled with black mold almost from one end of the ceiling above the shower head to the wall across from the shower head. I was then moved to room 129. This room was decent and had air fresheners in the air condition vents probably to mask the smell of mold/mildew. If it was one hotel with problems may this would be a coincidence but two properties with the same issue means a bigger issue is at hand. I will make it my distinct pleasure to make sure to get both properties closed due to this mold/mildew issue.
